Just days before the Miss World 2025 finale in Hyderabad, Miss England Milla Magee has left the pageant, claiming that contestants were made to “entertain” male guests and were treated like “performing monkeys.”
Milla, 24, from Cornwall, had earlier said she left the event for personal reasons. But later, she told The Sun that she didn’t feel comfortable with how the organisers handled things.
“We were asked to sit with male guests all evening. I didn’t sign up for that. It felt wrong,” she said.
She added that she felt like she was being used for others’ entertainment and that the event felt outdated and disrespectful.
Miss World Team Responds
The Miss World Organisation strongly denied these claims. Their head, Julia Morley, said Milla had asked to leave because of a family emergency. They also shared that they will release videos showing Milla enjoying her time in India and speaking positively about the event.
Indian Officials Speak Out
A government official from Telangana, where the event is being held, said they reviewed CCTV footage. According to him, Milla was sitting with a senior officer and his family, not just male investors.
“There’s no sign of anything wrong happening. Her story doesn’t match what really happened,” he said.
Other contestants also didn’t raise any serious complaints, though some said people asking for too many selfies was a bit much.
After Milla left, runner-up Charlotte Grant flew in to represent England at the Miss World finale, which will be held on May 31.
