The prime suspect in the murder of 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousaf has been sent to jail on judicial remand for an identification parade, marking a major development in the high-profile case that has shocked the nation.

TikToker Fatally Shot in Islamabad

Sana Yousaf was shot dead on Monday in Islamabad by an armed assailant who allegedly had a personal dispute with the social media influencer. She was hit by two bullets and died on the spot. Her body was shifted to PIMS Hospital, where a postmortem was conducted before it was handed over to her family.

Suspect Umar Hayat Arrested in Faisalabad

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Umar Hayat — also known as Kaka — was arrested from Faisalabad after extensive raids by Islamabad Police. According to Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the accused had forcibly entered Sana’s residence and shot her after repeated failed attempts to befriend her.

“Seven teams were constituted and 37 individuals were interrogated during the investigation,” said IG Rizvi. Law enforcement agencies also recovered the murder weapon and the victim’s iPhone from the suspect’s possession.

Interior Minister Commends Swift Action

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the rapid police action. In a post on X, he stated: “Well done Islamabad Police. Sana Yousuf murder case traced, accused arrested, and weapon recovered within 20 hours.”

Court Orders Identification Parade

Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad approved the plea for an identification parade and granted judicial remand of the accused. The suspect will remain in jail as further legal procedures continue.
