LAHORE – In a historic development for Pakistan’s automotive industry, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Ltd. (HACPL) has officially started exporting completely built units (CBUs) to Japan. This marks the first time Pakistan is exporting locally manufactured cars to Japan, one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.
A special ceremony was held at Honda Atlas’s modern manufacturing plant to celebrate this milestone. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries & Production Division, was the chief guest at the event and officially inaugurated the export initiative with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
A Milestone for Pakistan’s Auto Industry
“Honda’s initiative reflects the progress of local manufacturing and its growing role in Pakistan’s economy,” he said.
The company has already dispatched its first batch of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units to Japan, demonstrating confidence in Pakistani manufacturing quality on a global scale.

Leadership Remarks and Vision
Aamir H. Shirazi, Chairman of Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Ltd., expressed gratitude for the government’s continued efforts to create a business-friendly environment. He stressed the importance of the auto industry in contributing to Pakistan’s economic development.

Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees also took part in a tree plantation activity inside the plant grounds — a gesture symbolizing Honda’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
