Pakistan, World Leaders Mourn Victims of Air India Plane Crash in Ahmedabad

World leaders, including Pakistan’s top leadership, expressed deep sorrow and solidarity following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad on Thursday, which claimed at least 242 lives on board. The aircraft, bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, crashed shortly after takeoff, plunging into a residential area adjacent to a medical college.


PM Shehbaz, Pakistani Leaders React
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was among the first to extend condolences, stating:

“Saddened by the tragic crash of Air India flight near Ahmedabad today… Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.”

Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif echoed the sentiment, sharing his grief on social media:

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of all aboard.”

PPP Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari remarked:

“I express my profound condolences to the people of India.”

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif shared his sympathies:

“This devastating loss transcends borders and reminds us of our shared humanity. My deepest sympathies to Prime Minister Modi and the people of India.”

PIA and Aviation Community Stand in Solidarity
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) also issued a condolence message, saying:

“Our hearts go out to the families & loved ones affected by today’s tragic crash… we stand in solidarity with our fellow aviation community.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartbreak:

“The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us… Have been in touch with authorities assisting those affected.”
