Islamabad, June 19, 2025 – Three Pakistani schools have been recognized globally after being selected as three of the Top 10 finalists for the World’s Best School Prizes 2025, recognizing their impactful role to education and communities.
The Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School and Nordic International School in Lahore, and the Beaconhouse College Programme’s Juniper Campus in Quetta were chosen as finalists because of their innovative approaches to education. The awards, organized by T4 Education, recognize excellence in five categories: Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives. The winners will be announced in October 2025, and the winners will be selected by an expert judging academy. The Community Choice Award is now open for public vote.
Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School, a charitable school in Lahore, is a contender in the Overcoming Adversity category. It was started in an abandoned factory and currently serves almost 800 marginalized students employing the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), emphasizing developing 21st-century competencies with an inclusive inquiry-based curriculum. Also earning accolades for Community Collaboration, Nordic International School, in Lahore, solicited parental collaboration through interactive apps and workshops to foster a supportive, kind learning community. The Juniper Campus of Beaconhouse College Programme in Quetta was nominated for the Community Collaboration award for their student-led mobile science lab, Science Gaari, created in partnership with UNICEF which brings STEM into over 150 rural schools in Balochistan through hands-on experiences.
Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister said, “These institutions are a pride for Pakistan with their modern curricula and community work”, but there remain pressing challenges for Pakistan’s educational system, including 22 million out of school children and a higher education budget of Rs66.4 billion, with the Higher Education Commission requesting Rs84.6 billion for 2025-26.
The finalists will attend the World Schools Summit event in Abu Dhabi on November 15-16, 2025, to share their knowledge and skills with global education leaders. Vikas Pota, T4 Education’s founder, said: “These schools introduce innovations that give us hope for a better future in the face of immense global challenges including AI, climate change and poverty.”
