ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari urged the world to halt Israeli aggression in Iran, warning of a potential World War III. He also cautioned India against violating the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), stating Pakistan would go to war if rivers are diverted or dams built.

Call to Stop Regional Conflict

Speaking in the National Assembly on Monday, Bilawal referenced the poem First They Came to highlight global silence on Israeli attacks in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and now Iran. “If we don’t speak out for Iranians, there will be no one left when they come for us,” he said. He warned that Israel’s actions risk escalating into a global conflict.

Tensions with India Escalate

Bilawal accused India of mimicking Israeli tactics, calling it a “cheap copy of Netanyahu.” He claimed Pakistan’s recent military and diplomatic victories over India, including Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which downed six Indian jets. He emphasized Pakistan’s global narrative on Kashmir, noting growing international sympathy and U.S. mediation offers.

Indus Waters Treaty Warning

The PPP chief condemned India’s suspension of the IWT as illegal, violating the UN Charter. “If India diverts rivers or builds dams, Pakistan will go to war,” he declared, asserting Pakistan’s air force’s readiness. He also accused India of failing to label Pakistan a terrorist state.

Domestic Politics and Budget Support

Bilawal endorsed the Rs17.57 trillion FY26 federal budget, praising salary and pension hikes but seeking more for South Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Despite not being in the cabinet, he positioned PPP as a national representative.
