Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has officially confirmed her role in the upcoming Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, putting to rest speculation about her removal from the project amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.
The Sardaar Ji franchise, led by popular Indian singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, enjoys a massive following among Punjabi audiences. The third installment is set to release on July 27.
Rumors about Hania’s involvement intensified following a recent 87-hour military clash in May, triggered by India’s unprovoked missile strikes within its own territory. Pakistan responded with a retaliatory operation, Bunyan-un-Marsoos (Iron Wall), during which the Pakistan Air Force reportedly downed six Indian fighter jets, including Rafale aircraft.
This escalation fueled concerns about ongoing cross-border film collaborations, with particular attention on Sardaar Ji 3 and another Indo-Pakistani project. Some Indian right-wing groups called for the exclusion of Pakistani artists from Indian cinema.
Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh’s collaboration initially drew public attention after she appeared on stage with him during his London concert last year, where he praised her. Reports soon followed suggesting that she would star alongside him in the next installment of Sardaar Ji.
Amid mounting political pressure and industry silence, speculation grew that Hania might be removed from the cast. The uncertainty was reignited recently when Diljit shared a behind-the-scenes photo wearing a T-shirt that appeared to feature Hania’s face, sparking fan speculation.
Hania has now ended the uncertainty by sharing the official trailer of Sardaar Ji 3, confirming her role in the film alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa.
