Pakistan Armed Forces Neutralize Six Terrorists in Dalbandin Operation
Security forces track terrorist formation via aerial reconnaissance, dismantling a major threat
Dalbandin, Balochistan — Six terrorists from the group Fitna al-Hindustan were killed by Pakistan’s armed forces in a precise operation in the Dalbandin area of district Chagai, Balochistan, on Wednesday, according to security sources. The successful operation, which was launched after detailed aerial reconnaissance, effectively dismantled a dangerous terrorist formation hiding in the mountainous region.
The operation, which was described as timely and accurate, eliminated the threat posed by the terrorists, safeguarding both military personnel and civilians in the region. According to security officials, the terrorists had been tracked for some time before forces moved in to neutralize them.
Separate Operation in Bajaur: TTP Hideouts Destroyed
In a separate operation in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistani forces also targeted and eliminated terrorist hideouts belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Fitna al-Khawarij. During the operation, which was based on solid intelligence, security forces engaged in an intense firefight with militants hiding in caves in the Shahi Tangi forest.
One terrorist was killed in the exchange, while several others were injured and fled the area. Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives, and communication equipment used by the militants, further dismantling the terrorist network.
Rising Cross-Border Terrorism and Tensions with Afghanistan
These operations come amid an alarming rise in cross-border terrorism, particularly in the bordering provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021. The situation has led to heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with numerous militant attacks launched from Afghan soil.
In recent weeks, the Taliban regime in Afghanistan has been accused of allowing militant groups to launch cross-border attacks on Pakistan’s security forces. On October 12, Taliban-affiliated militants attacked multiple Pakistan army posts, leading to a fierce exchange in which over 200 Afghan militants were killed, while 23 Pakistani soldiers sacrificed their lives.
In retaliation, Pakistan carried out precision strikes targeting multiple terrorist strongholds in Afghanistan’s Kandahar and Kabul regions, weakening terrorist operations. Despite the ongoing tensions, both nations have agreed to a ceasefire, with discussions scheduled for October 25 in Istanbul, Turkey, where delegations from both sides will address key security issues.
