The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised its squads for the limited-overs fixtures against Sri Lanka and the three-team T20 series that will follow, featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Right-hander Hasan Nawaz has been released from the national setup so he can represent his domestic side in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with the seventh round beginning November 11. Left-hander Fakhar Zaman has been drafted into the T20I squad in his place. No additional replacement has been added to the ODI group.
Pakistan enter the Sri Lanka series with momentum — having beaten South Africa in both the limited-overs legs of the recently-concluded home tour. Pakistan bagged the T20I rubber and edged the ODI series 2–1, while the Test matches were shared.
Sri Lanka arrive for three ODIs in Rawalpindi on November 11, 13 and 15.
Afterwards, Zimbabwe will join the two sides for a T20I tri-nation tournament. The first two games of the tri-series will be staged in Rawalpindi before action shifts to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, which will also host the final on November 29.
Pakistan hold the head-to-head advantage in ODIs versus Sri Lanka: 93 wins in 157 games.
