Karachi Child Investigation: Police Arrest Suspect After Missing Boy Found Dead
The Karachi child investigation entered a significant stage on Wednesday after police confirmed the arrest of a suspect following the recovery of the body of a six-year-old boy who had been reported missing earlier this week. Authorities say the investigation remains active as forensic examinations and legal proceedings continue.
Overview
According to Karachi police, the child disappeared on July 6 after leaving home in the city’s Napier area. Family members searched the neighborhood and informed police when he failed to return.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered, and investigators began efforts to locate the child.
Late Tuesday night, residents alerted police after discovering a body wrapped in a sack near Punjab Gali, close to Spencer’s Eye Hospital in the Lea Market area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Karachi Child Investigation Moves Forward
Police officials stated that a 20-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after the recovery of the body.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza, the suspect was identified through information gathered during the initial investigation and from local residents. Authorities said the suspect lived in the same neighborhood as the victim.

Police added that the suspect is employed as a carpenter and originally belongs to Phool Nagar, Lahore.
Investigators emphasized that the inquiry is continuing and that evidence is being collected to support the legal process.
Medical Examination Underway
Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed said the child’s body had undergone an initial examination.
She confirmed that forensic and biological samples had been collected for laboratory testing. Officials said the final medical findings, including the confirmed cause of death, will be determined after the completion of forensic analysis.
Authorities have not released additional medical details while laboratory examinations remain in progress.
Police Continue Evidence Collection
Investigators said they are examining physical evidence, witness statements, and forensic findings as part of the ongoing Karachi child investigation.
Police stated that the suspect remains in custody and that further legal action will depend on the outcome of forensic reports and the investigation.
Officials have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information while the inquiry proceeds. According to the latest statement issued by the Pakistan military, further updates are expected as investigations continue. Source: ISPR https://ispr.gov.pk/

Police have appealed to anyone with additional information related to the case to cooperate with investigators.
Officials said further updates will be shared as forensic examinations are completed and court proceedings move forward.
