India Can’t Stop Pakistan’s Water, Declares PM Shehbaz at Trilateral Summit

LACHIN (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has categorically rejected India’s recent threats to cut off Pakistan’s water supply, calling such actions unacceptable and asserting that water is Pakistan’s lifeline.

“India will never be able to stop our water,” PM Shehbaz said while addressing the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan trilateral summit held in Lachin.

He extended warm congratulations to Azerbaijan on its Independence Day, commending the nation’s enduring struggle for freedom and progress. The premier emphasized the deep-rooted historical and cultural bonds shared among Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan, noting that the summit reinforces their united commitment to regional cooperation and friendship.

During his remarks, PM Shehbaz also praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his firm stance against the PKK, acknowledging his leadership in maintaining regional stability.

Water, Kashmir & Pahalgam: No Compromise

On the escalating tensions with India, the Prime Minister criticized New Delhi for making baseless allegations over the Pahalgam incident, pointing out that India had rejected Pakistan’s offer for an impartial investigation.

“Using Pahalgam as a pretext, India resorted to aggression,” he stated, while commending Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their resolute and professional response, which he said was backed by the full support of the Pakistani nation.

PM Shehbaz also condemned India’s repeated violations of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), warning that any attempt to block water essential to 240 million Pakistanis would never succeed.

He reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding stance for resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

Regional Unity & Counterterrorism

Highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism, the premier reminded the world that the country has lost over 90,000 lives in its ongoing battle.

“Our resolve to eliminate terrorism is unwavering,” he stressed, appreciating the steadfast friendship of Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

“Our three nations stand united for peace, justice, and shared values,” PM Shehbaz concluded.
