Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday for a one-day official visit, where he was received at Al Bateen Airport by Abu Dhabi’s Deputy Ruler and National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The visit aims to enhance Pakistan-UAE relations through high-level engagements and strategic dialogue.

High-Level Delegation and Warm Welcome
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and SAPM Tariq Fatemi, PM Shehbaz was warmly welcomed by the UAE leadership upon arrival.
Focus on Bilateral and Regional Cooperation
During his visit, the prime minister is scheduled to meet with UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Discussions will cover a broad spectrum of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern, with a focus on economic collaboration, strategic partnerships, and regional peace.
Deepening Economic and Strategic Partnership
According to the Foreign Office, the visit underscores the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, rooted in mutual respect and shared values. The leaders are expected to explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in investment, agriculture, and the minerals sector.
Building on Previous Engagements
The visit follows Sheikh Mohamed’s trip to Pakistan earlier this year, where he met with PM Shehbaz in Rahim Yar Khan. Both leaders reiterated their shared vision for deeper political and economic integration and expressed mutual interest in climate cooperation and global advocacy.
Commitment to Regional Stability
The two nations continue to prioritize peace and progress in the region, with this visit reaffirming their commitment to a strengthened, multifaceted partnership. The meeting is anticipated to yield practical steps toward greater collaboration and mutual development.
