Gaza Health Ministry: Israel Hands Over 15 Palestinian Bodies Under Ceasefire Deal
The Gaza health ministry said on Wednesday that Israel transferred the bodies of 15 Palestinians as part of the ongoing ceasefire exchange arrangement brokered by the United States.
In a statement, the ministry said the latest handover brings the total number of Palestinian bodies received since the start of the exchange process to 345. The return was facilitated through the International Committee of the Red Cross.
A medical official at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis confirmed that the facility received 15 bodies on Wednesday, also transferred via the Red Cross. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
The handover is part of a broader humanitarian mechanism established under the temporary ceasefire, which includes prisoner exchanges and the return of remains held by Israel. Humanitarian groups say the process is essential for families seeking closure amid the ongoing conflict.
