Pakistan’s under-19 volleyball team maintained their perfect record in the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over host Uzbekistan in their second Pool A match. The impressive performance, highlighted by a 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 win, further cements Pakistan’s dominance in the tournament.


Pakistan’s under-19 volleyball team continued their strong run in the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship by defeating Uzbekistan 3-0 in their second Pool A match. Despite the pressure of playing in front of a home crowd, Pakistan showcased their excellence on the court with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21.

Captain Muhammad Yahya delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 24 points, including 21 attack points, leading from the front. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the team through the tough match. Alongside him, Saud contributed 10 points, while Muhtad Ali Shah and Ajmal Janid each added 9 points to the team’s tally.

Pakistan’s offensive prowess was on full display, as they outclassed Uzbekistan in both attack and block points. Pakistan recorded 45 attack points, while Uzbekistan managed just 28. The Men in Green also dominated the blocking phase, registering 12 block points compared to Uzbekistan’s 5. The serve points were more evenly contested, but Pakistan managed to edge out their opponents with 2 serve points against Uzbekistan’s 3.

Head coach Saeed Ahmed Khan Sady commended the team’s focus and discipline under pressure, acknowledging the challenge of defeating the host nation on their home turf. “Our boys showed tremendous maturity and confidence on the court today. Beating the host team in front of their home crowd is never easy, but our players remained focused and executed the game plan with precision,” he said.

Pakistan’s next challenge in the tournament will be against Turkiye, and the team is eager to build on this momentum as they move forward in the preliminary phase. The victory over Uzbekistan marks a significant milestone in their campaign, positioning Pakistan as a formidable contender in the championship.
