ISLAMABAD, December 8, 2025 — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day maiden official visit, receiving a red-carpet welcome at Nur Khan Airbase. He was greeted by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers and senior officials, President Subianto will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and meet President Zardari as well as Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the Foreign Office, discussions will cover a comprehensive agenda aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and exploring cooperation in trade, investment, defence, health, information technology, climate, education, and cultural exchange. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit to formalize agreements in key sectors.
“The visit of President Prabowo will provide an important opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to the continued growth and diversification of the partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia,” the statement added.
Pakistan and Indonesia share a long-standing and cordial relationship rooted in shared values and mutual interests. The two countries aim to enhance collaboration at regional and global levels, with this visit seen as a platform to strengthen strategic and economic partnerships.
