He highlighted the sharp rise in oil prices above $100 per barrel and cautioned that disruptions to energy supplies and shipping routes could keep prices elevated.
Javed also warned that the conflict could expand beyond the United States and Iran, potentially placing countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye in a difficult strategic position. He stressed that a wider regional conflict would have significant economic and security consequences and urged countries to prioritize dialogue before tensions escalate further.
Looking ahead to the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, Javed emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement. He suggested that Pakistan could engage with Washington while China could support dialogue with Tehran, creating a dual-track diplomatic effort aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging a negotiated resolution.
