Federal Government Hands Over Bulletproof Vehicles to KP Police, Says Talal Chaudhry

Islamabad, October 21, 2025: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced on Tuesday that the federal government has provided state-of-the-art bulletproof vehicles to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police to enhance security and counter-terrorism operations in the province.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, the minister expressed disappointment that the KP government declined to accept the vehicles, alleging that the decision was made on political grounds rather than practical considerations.

“These are the same bulletproof vehicles used by federal ministers and top-ranking security officials,” Chaudhry said. “Each vehicle, worth around Rs100 million, meets international safety and ballistic protection standards.”

He emphasized that the move was part of the federal government’s broader initiative to strengthen provincial law enforcement and eliminate terrorism through better protection and modern equipment.

Criticism of TLP’s “Hypocrisy” and Violent Conduct

Turning to political developments, the minister strongly criticized the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) for what he described as “hypocritical and extremist politics.” He accused the group of misusing religious sentiments under the guise of solidarity with Palestine while failing to present any meaningful demands in support of the Palestinian people.

“TLP leaders call for boycotting foreign products,” Chaudhry remarked, “yet 69 branded luxury watches were recovered from their possession.”

He revealed that authorities had traced nearly 100 bank accounts linked to TLP leaders, with transactions amounting to millions of rupees, including funds earned through interest-based income, contradicting the group’s public stance.

Chaudhry added that the TLP leadership has gone underground, leaving ordinary citizens, including a police officer, martyred during their violent demonstrations.

Call for Responsible Governance

The minister warned that Pakistan could no longer tolerate the reckless behavior of the KP chief minister or the extremist politics of radical groups. He reiterated the federal government’s commitment to ensuring law and order, urging political and religious organizations to act responsibly in the national interest.

“The people of Pakistan stand united against terrorism and extremism,” Chaudhry asserted. “No group will be allowed to disrupt peace or exploit religion for political gain.”
