Instagram Suspends Talha Ahmed’s Account Over Age Dispute

Pakistani content creator Talha Ahmed, known for his family-friendly digital content, has had his Instagram account permanently disabled over an alleged age dispute. At 16, Talha denies being under 13, and his family is working to appeal the decision while planning a return to the platform.

ISLAMABAD – Talha Ahmed, a rising Pakistani social media star, saw his Instagram account, which had 869,000 followers, permanently suspended after the platform claimed he was under the minimum age requirement of 13. Talha, currently 16, strongly disputes the claim.

Speaking to Geo Digital, Talha’s brother, Taha Ahmed, said the family immediately appealed the decision. Instagram requested documents to verify Talha’s age. Since Talha does not yet have a national ID card, the family submitted school documents showing his name, photo, and date of birth.

“We’re not sure what exactly happened — whether it was reported or just a mistake — but the account has been permanently disabled,” Taha said. Despite the setback, Talha plans to return with a new Instagram account soon.

Fans have expressed disappointment on his Facebook page, highlighting his significant influence across multiple platforms. On TikTok, he has over 121,000 followers and 1.9 million likes, while his YouTube channel boasts 142,000 subscribers.

Recently, Talha’s work was nationally recognized when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif awarded him a laptop, Rs1 million, and a commemorative shield at the Prime Minister’s House for his contributions to creative content.

The suspension has sparked discussions about content creator rights and age verification processes on major social media platforms, particularly for young creators in Pakistan.
