A Karachi doctor killed during a robbery near Teen Talwar has sparked fresh concerns over violent street crime in Pakistan’s largest city. Karachi Doctor Killed: How the Incident Unfolded

According to police officials, the incident occurred on Monday near Teen Talwar in Karachi’s Clifton area.

The victim, identified as Dr. Akash, had reportedly withdrawn cash from a nearby bank before travelling with his father and cousin to another financial institution. Investigators said the family was transporting Rs2.5 million when their vehicle stopped close to the second bank.

Moments later, armed suspects approached the vehicle from behind in what police believe was a planned robbery attempt.

South SSP Mahzoor Ali said that a security guard stationed outside the bank noticed the confrontation and believed the occupants of the vehicle were the robbers. Acting on that assumption, the guard opened fire toward the car.

The suspects also fired multiple rounds during the incident, creating panic in the busy commercial area.

Police said the attackers managed to snatch one packet of cash before fleeing the scene, while another cash packet remained inside the vehicle.

Family members described Dr. Akash as a dedicated medical professional who had been serving patients at Jinnah Hospital for approximately two years.

They urged law enforcement agencies to ensure a transparent investigation and bring every individual responsible to justice.
