Pakistan Players Rise in ICC T20I Rankings After West Indies Series Win

Several Pakistani cricketers have made significant gains in the latest ICC T20I rankings following their standout performances in the recent 3-0 series win against the West Indies, while India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to dominate the batting charts.

DUBAI – Pakistan’s recent clean sweep against the West Indies in the T20I series has boosted the international rankings of multiple players across batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories, according to the latest update by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Batting Rankings:

  • Hassan Nawaz, Pakistan’s middle-order batter, climbed 24 spots to 30th position with 569 rating points after scoring 79 runs across the series.
  • Saim Ayub, the leading run-scorer of the series with 130 runs including two half-centuries, surged 25 places to 37th with 559 points.
  • Sahibzada Farhan, who contributed 91 runs, made the biggest jump among batters—rising 34 places to 63rd with 484 points.
  • Captain Salman Ali Agha moved up 15 places to 76th, and Fakhar Zaman climbed three spots to 78th.

However, the long absence from T20I cricket cost veteran players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan as both dropped three spots, now ranked 17th and 19th, respectively.
Mohammad Haris, who underperformed on the Caribbean tour, slipped 21 places to 86th.

India’s Abhishek Sharma remains the top-ranked T20I batter, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Varma.


Bowling Rankings:
No Pakistani bowlers made it into the top 20, but several saw shifts in their positions:

  • Haris Rauf stayed at 26th with 575 points, while Abbas Afridi fell to 27th after dropping three places.
  • Sufiyan Muqeem made a remarkable leap of 69 positions to reach 34th with 542 points.
  • Shaheen Afridi dropped one position to 36th, while Mohammad Nawaz rose 51 places to 56th.
  • Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan slipped to 60th and 72nd, respectively.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy remains the top-ranked T20I bowler, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein, who moved into third place.


All-Rounder Rankings:

  • Saim Ayub made another headline-worthy move, jumping 70 places to 24th in the all-rounders list with 119 points, reflecting his dual contributions.
  • Shadab Khan dropped two spots to 19th, while Mohammad Nawaz improved to 36th.
  • Abbas Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed fell to 56th and 70th, respectively, and Faheem Ashraf climbed to 77th.

India’s Hardik Pandya retained the number one spot among all-rounders, followed by Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi.

The rankings update reflects the dynamic shifts ahead of upcoming T20I events, with rising stars like Saim Ayub and Sufiyan Muqeem showcasing the depth in Pakistan’s cricket talent pool.
