Pakistan, US to Boost Cooperation in Border and Security Sectors

Pakistan and the United States have agreed to strengthen cooperation in border security, counter-narcotics, coast guard operations, and forensic sciences, reaffirming their commitment to closer collaboration on security and investment opportunities.


The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad. Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on strengthening institutional cooperation in areas critical to law enforcement and national security.

The discussions also touched upon Pakistani nationals wanted in the United States, reflecting ongoing coordination between the two governments on judicial and law enforcement matters.

Ambassador Natalie Baker expressed sorrow over the recent loss of lives and property caused by devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, reaffirming US solidarity with Pakistan during the crisis.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the oil exploration sector, assuring that the government would extend full support and facilities to American investors.

The Acting US Ambassador reiterated that the United States attaches special importance to its relationship with Pakistan, noting that enhanced cooperation in security and economic sectors would further strengthen bilateral ties.
