Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has been deported from the United Kingdom after British authorities revoked his visa over undisclosed legal cases pending against him in Pakistan, sources confirmed on Tuesday.
Butt was placed on a flight to Islamabad early in the morning, following official expulsion orders from the UK Home Office. His visa, which had been valid until 2027, was cancelled after investigators discovered that he had not declared ongoing cases during his application — a violation that triggered immediate deportation under UK immigration rules.
Detention and Inquiry by MI6
The development followed a recent probe initiated after MI6 detained Butt and fellow content creator Nadeem Naniwala on the basis of anonymous complaints accusing them of links to terrorism. According to sources, both men were cleared of any terrorism-related activity during the investigation.
While Naniwala — a British citizen — was released, Butt’s documents were forwarded to the Home Office for further review. Officials discovered that Pakistani authorities had already shared information regarding his active cases, prompting the UK to issue a formal notice instructing him to leave without delay. A close associate of Butt confirmed the deportation, and Naniwala stated he was accompanying him on the return flight.
UK Cites Visa Violation
British authorities said the action was taken strictly in line with immigration regulations governing visa disclosures and compliance, stressing that the failure to declare pending cases constituted grounds for expulsion.
IHC Grants Protective Bail in Pakistan
Separately, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted protective bail to Butt and Naniwala in relation to cybercrime and other pending cases registered against them in Pakistan. The court directed law enforcement agencies not to arrest the two upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport on Wednesday.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas instructed both men to appear before the court the following day as part of the bail requirements. Multiple complaints, including cybercrime allegations, had previously been filed against the two digital personalities.
