Pakistan Afghanistan Peace: Field Marshal Munir Issues Strong Warning Over Terror Support

Pakistan Afghanistan Peace and Security Concerns

Pakistan Afghanistan Peace remains conditional on the Afghan Taliban regime decisively ending support for terrorist groups operating against Pakistan, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir said during a high-level visit to Wana, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The remarks come amid continued security tensions along the western border, where Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns over militant safe havens inside Afghan territory.

Field Marshal Munir’s Wana Visit

Field Marshal Asim Munir travelled to Wana in South Waziristan to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of forces deployed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to ISPR, the army chief received a detailed briefing on the evolving security environment, intelligence-based operations, and enhanced border management mechanisms aimed at strengthening Pakistan Afghanistan Peace.

He also interacted with officers and troops stationed in forward areas, praising their professionalism, operational vigilance, and morale during ongoing skirmishes.

Operation Ghazab lil-Haq Briefing

During the visit, military commanders briefed the CDF on the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, an ongoing campaign targeting militant networks threatening national security.

Officials outlined operational gains and strategic measures taken to counter infiltration attempts and neutralise hostile elements operating from across the border.

The army chief expressed satisfaction over the combat readiness and coordination of formations deployed in the sensitive frontier region. He reaffirmed full confidence in the Pakistan Army’s ability to safeguard territorial integrity and reinforce Pakistan Afghanistan Peace through sustained counterterrorism efforts.

Warning Over Cross-Border Terror Threats

Field Marshal Munir reiterated that durable Pakistan Afghanistan Peace is impossible unless the Afghan Taliban renounce support for terrorist organisations.

He specifically warned against the use of Afghan soil by groups identified by Pakistan as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan to carry out attacks inside the country.

“The use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan is unacceptable,” he was quoted as saying.

The military leadership made clear that all necessary measures would be taken to neutralise threats emanating from across the border.

Security analysts view the statement as a firm diplomatic and strategic signal to Kabul, reinforcing Pakistan’s longstanding position that cross-border militancy remains the primary obstacle to Pakistan Afghanistan Peace.

Tribute to Martyrs at Shuhada Monument

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to honour soldiers who embraced martyrdom in defence of the country.

He offered Fateha and emphasised that the sacrifices of the Shuhada remain central to Pakistan’s security framework and resilience.

Upon arrival in Wana, the army chief was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s continued focus on border stabilisation and counterterrorism operations as essential pillars for achieving lasting Pakistan Afghanistan Peace.
