Flood Diversion to Save Town
The Multan city administration took a dramatic step on Tuesday by breaching the Uch Sharif Road in a bid to protect Jalalpur Pirwala from encroaching floodwaters. The measure, officials said, was necessary to safeguard the town and its residents from potentially devastating damage.

Villages Face Rising Waters
According to City Police Officer Sadiq Ali Dogar, the redirected floodwater has been channeled toward Basti Lang, Basti Kanhu, and Bahadurpur. While Jalalpur Pirwala has been shielded for now, surrounding rural communities are bracing for the impact.
Rescue and Relief Operations
Rescue teams remain active in vulnerable areas, evacuating families to safer locations and providing immediate assistance. CPO Dogar emphasized that emergency efforts are ongoing, with authorities committed to minimizing risk and damage as water levels continue to shift.
