A tragic car accident on Karachi’s Hawksbay Road claimed the lives of four people, including a woman and two young girls, on July 15, 2025, leaving several others injured. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the city.
The crash occurred when a speeding car, returning from a beach outing, lost control and collided with a drainage wall. The vehicle, carrying eight passengers, including children, was severely damaged. Authorities suspect the driver may have dozed off or lost control while attempting a turn. Initial reports confirmed the deaths of a woman and a child, with two more victims succumbing to injuries later, bringing the death toll to four.
Among the injured are 20-year-old Zain, 4-year-old Hussain, and 8-year-old Fatima, who were rushed to Civil Hospital. Dr. Abdul Razzaq, head of the Trauma Center, reported that 10 people were admitted, with three in critical condition due to internal head injuries and three others stable. The family, originally from Punjab, was returning from a picnic at Hawksbay.
Police are investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident, with a focus on speeding and driver fatigue. This tragedy underscores the need for stricter road safety measures and awareness to prevent such incidents in the future.
