Israeli Strikes Kill Four in Gaza as Ceasefire Tensions Escalate

Four Palestinians were killed and 18 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Thursday in Khan Younis, deepening concerns over the fragility of a nearly six-week-old US-brokered ceasefire that both Israel and Hamas accuse each other of undermining.

Local health officials said the deadliest strike hit a home in Bani Suhaila, a town east of Khan Younis, killing three people — among them a baby girl — and injuring 15 others. Medics reported that a separate attack in nearby Abassan killed one man and left three wounded.

Israel’s military acknowledged conducting the Gaza strikes but said it had no confirmed information regarding casualties.

The violence adds fresh strain to already heightened ceasefire tensions, with the truce now overshadowed by recurring accusations of violations from both sides. The fragile pause, mediated by Washington, had aimed to reduce hostilities following months of conflict.
