Govt Extends Hajj Application Deadline for One Day: Banks to Accept Applications

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the deadline for Hajj 2026 applications by one day, allowing applicants to submit their forms at designated banks until August 18. The move comes as over 110,000 applications have already been received, with 7,000 seats still available under the official quota.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has granted a one-day extension for Hajj 2026 applications, with designated banks continuing to accept submissions on Monday, August 18. However, the online portal will remain closed as it was only open until midnight on August 16.

According to Muhammad Umar Butt, a spokesperson for the ministry, over 110,000 applications have been received since the start of the application period, but around 7,000 seats remain available under the official quota. The application process follows a “first-come, first-served” policy, and once the seats are filled, no further applications will be accepted.

For those applying, the long-duration package requires a deposit of Rs500,000, while the short-duration package costs Rs550,000. In addition, the federal cabinet recently increased the government’s share of the Hajj quota from 50% to nearly 67%, a decision aimed at restoring public confidence in the official Hajj scheme. The quota includes 2,000 seats for hardship cases and 1,000 seats for the labor community.

This extension provides one last opportunity for those wishing to perform Hajj under the government’s quota to apply before the remaining seats are filled.
