PAF to Showcase JF-17 Thunder at UK’s Royal Air Tattoo

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has arrived in the United Kingdom to participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, held from July 18 to 20 at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire. Showcasing its JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets, the PAF aims to highlight its operational prowess and Pakistan’s aviation capabilities at one of the world’s premier military airshows.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PAF contingent, accompanied by a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, completed a remarkable journey featuring mid-air refueling with an IL-78 tanker. This operation demonstrated the PAF’s long-range capabilities and the skill of its air and ground crews. The JF-17 Thunder Block-III, equipped with advanced EASA radar and long-range beyond-visual-range (BVR) missiles, is a 4.5-generation multi-role fighter capable of diverse combat missions, strengthening Pakistan’s national security.

The ISPR emphasized that PAF’s participation underscores its commitment to professional excellence and the indigenous strength of Pakistan’s aviation industry. The JF-17’s combat-proven capabilities have drawn global attention, especially following recent regional tensions, making its appearance at RIAT a highly anticipated event among aviation enthusiasts and defense observers. The airshow provides a platform to showcase the aircraft’s advanced technology and operational readiness, further elevating Pakistan’s standing in the global aerospace community.
