HOUSTON: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston and prominent Democratic leader Tahir Javed hosted a dinner in honor of Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, during his visit to the United States. The event brought together members of the Pakistani-American community, business leaders, professionals, and diplomats.

Addressing the gathering, Ahsan Iqbal urged overseas Pakistanis to promote a positive image of Pakistan and serve as ambassadors for the country’s economic development, investment, trade, education, innovation, and technology. He emphasized that Pakistan-U.S. relations should expand beyond traditional security cooperation to include stronger partnerships in trade, investment, artificial intelligence, research, and higher education.
The reception was also addressed by U.S. Congressman Al Green, Pakistan’s Consul General in Houston, Muhammad Aftab Chaudhry, Democratic leader Tahir Javed, and other distinguished guests. Ibrahim Javed moderated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Tahir Javed welcomed the federal minister and reaffirmed the Pakistani-American community’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan-U.S. ties and supporting initiatives that promote economic growth, innovation, and investment. The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation and engaging the overseas Pakistani community in Pakistan’s long-term development agenda.
