Pakistan Cricket Team Arrives in Dhaka for T20I Series

The Pakistan national cricket team arrived in Dhaka on July 16, 2025, to compete in a three-match T20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh, starting July 20. All matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, as both teams gear up for the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.

The squad, led by captain Salman Ali Agha, traveled in two groups via Dubai from Karachi, with key players including Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, and Faheem Ashraf. The 15-member team, featuring wicketkeepers Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan, blends youth and experience, with emerging talents like Hassan Nawaz and Salman Mirza alongside seasoned players. Notable absences include Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, with Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan sidelined due to injuries.

Under head coach Mike Hesson, supported by fielding coach Shane McDermott, strength and conditioning coach Grant Luden, and team manager Naveed Akram Cheema, the team rested on July 17 before starting training. The series follows Pakistan’s 3-0 T20I sweep over Bangladesh in Lahore in May 2025, setting the stage for a competitive rematch on spin-friendly Dhaka pitches. Ticket prices, ranging from Tk 300 to Tk 3,500, have been set to ensure accessibility for fans.

After the series, Pakistan will travel to the United States for a three-match T20I series against the West Indies from August 1 to 4, followed by an ODI series in Trinidad and Tobago from August 8 to 12, as part of a packed white-ball schedule.
