Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside Field Marshal Asim Munir, visited flood-hit areas in Buner and Shangla on Wednesday, offering condolences and assuring full government support to the affected communities. During the visit, the leaders conducted an aerial survey of the devastation, held meetings with flood victims, and reviewed ongoing rescue and relief operations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, together with Field Marshal Asim Munir, visited the flood-stricken regions of Buner and Shangla in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday, where they were received by Federal Minister Amir Muqam. The leaders were accompanied by Federal Ministers Attaullah Tarar and Ahsan Iqbal.

During their visit, they were briefed on the progress of rescue and relief operations and the challenges faced by the authorities on the ground. An aerial survey of the most severely affected areas in Buner and Shangla provided a clearer picture of the scale of destruction caused by the recent flash floods.
In a show of solidarity, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with local residents and distributed relief cheques, emphasizing the government’s commitment to accelerating rehabilitation efforts in these devastated areas. He assured the people that all available resources would be utilized to support their recovery.
Shehbaz also highlighted the role of illegal activities, including encroachments, illegal mining, and timber mafia operations, in exacerbating the damage caused by the floods. He promised strict legal action against those involved in such environmental violations, which he attributed to many of the casualties and damages.
Meanwhile, Field Marshal Asim Munir visited personnel from the Pakistan Army, police, and civil administration involved in the rescue operations. He praised their dedication and tireless efforts in providing aid and relief to the victims of the disaster.
A media briefing followed, where Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, and NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider outlined the ongoing relief operations. Lt Gen Chaudhry shared that over 6,000 people have received medical assistance, with army and rescue teams working tirelessly to restore infrastructure and provide aid to affected communities.
