In a decisive ruling, a Texas court has dismissed all claims filed by businessman Tanweer Ahmed against Tahir Javed and imposed $10,000 in sanctions for filing what the court described as baseless litigation.
The Harris County District Court ruled in favor of Javed under the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA), which protects individuals from lawsuits intended to suppress free speech or lawful petitioning. The court dismissed Ahmed’s allegations with prejudice, covering claims of defamation, conspiracy, tortious interference, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Business Wire Report on the case of Tahir Javed
According to a Business Wire report, Judge Kristen Brauchle Hawkins noted that Ahmed’s lawsuit lacked merit and was intended to punish Tahir Javed for publicly expressed opinions. The sanctions were deemed necessary to prevent similar frivolous claims in the future.
Ahmed had accused Tahir Javed and several online platforms of publishing false information that damaged his reputation and business interests. Javed’s legal team countered that the claims were unsupported and that his statements were protected under the law. A video of the court ruling shows the judge announcing the dismissal with prejudice.
Beyond the dismissal, Tahir Javed has filed motions to resolve remaining allegations not covered by the TCPA, including claims of fraud and breach of contract, and has initiated counterclaims against Ahmed, alleging a coordinated effort to spread defamatory content. Court records detailing the case are publicly available at Trellis Law.
