The remote location of the police post and the difficult mountainous terrain reportedly complicated the initial response, allowing the attackers to briefly seize control before reinforcements arrived.
Security Forces Launch Major Operation
Soon after the Balochistan Police Attack, Pakistani security forces launched an extensive clearance operation across the surrounding region.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the operation resulted in the deaths of 15 militants. Security personnel also secured the release of the abducted police officers and restored control of the affected area.

No militant organization immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the Balochistan Police Attack, paying tribute to the officers who lost their lives while expressing condolences to their families.
The minister alleged that the attackers were backed by India but did not provide public evidence to support the claim. India has repeatedly rejected Pakistan’s accusations of supporting separatist groups operating in Balochistan.
Provincial authorities stressed that such attacks would not weaken Pakistan’s determination to combat terrorism and maintain law and order across the province.
Government officials also praised the swift response of security personnel who carried out the rescue operation and prevented further casualties.
Growing Security Challenges in Balochistan
The latest Balochistan Police Attack follows several recent security incidents across the province.
Only days earlier, militants reportedly targeted another security installation in the coastal town of Jiwani. Authorities also acknowledged separate attacks against civilians near Quetta, leading local residents to stage demonstrations demanding stronger security measures.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, has witnessed decades of insurgency involving separatist organizations as well as attacks carried out by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The Baloch Liberation Army, designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the United States in 2019, has repeatedly claimed responsibility for attacks targeting security personnel, public infrastructure and civilians throughout the province.
Investigation Continues
Following the Balochistan Police Attack, investigators are gathering evidence to determine how the militants planned and executed the coordinated assault.
Security agencies are continuing intelligence-led operations in surrounding districts while increasing patrols at police stations, checkpoints and government installations.
Officials say additional security measures are being implemented to reduce the risk of similar attacks and improve coordination among provincial and federal security agencies.
The tragic loss of nine police officers has renewed concerns about the evolving security situation in Balochistan and the continuing threat posed by militant organizations operating in remote parts of the province.
