U.S. Lawmakers Meet Field Marshal Asim Munir at GHQ to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

RAWALPINDI — U.S. Representatives Ryan Keith Zinke of Montana and Michael James of Washington met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defence cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and the United States. Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s economic potential and emphasized the importance of sustainable growth, trade, investment, and regional connectivity.

Both sides also discussed opportunities for increased bilateral trade, private-sector partnerships, and deeper economic and institutional cooperation. The visiting U.S. representatives acknowledged Pakistan’s role in regional stability and expressed their commitment to strength.
