France has dispatched 40 tons of emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza, underscoring mounting global concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory. The relief is being flown from Jordan in four separate shipments.
In a statement on Friday, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed that France is delivering a total of 40 tons of humanitarian supplies to Gaza via four flights from Jordan. The initiative aims to alleviate the rapidly deteriorating conditions faced by civilians amid ongoing conflict and severe shortages of basic necessities.

Describing the situation in Gaza as “revolting,” Barrot acknowledged that the aid, while critical, remains insufficient given the scale of the crisis. His comments came as international organizations warned of an escalating humanitarian emergency.
Earlier this week, a global hunger monitoring agency reported that famine-like conditions are developing in the Gaza Strip. The report highlighted alarming levels of malnutrition, particularly among children under five, some of whom have already died due to hunger-related causes. Access for humanitarian agencies continues to be severely restricted, exacerbating the crisis.
France’s aid effort is part of broader international calls for sustained humanitarian access and an urgent increase in relief operations to prevent further loss of life in the region.
