In a commanding performance at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in Jeonju-si, South Korea, Pakistan’s youth girls’ netball team clinched a decisive 79-39 victory against Japan on Monday, securing their place in the semi-finals of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025. The win solidifies Pakistan’s position at the top of Pool B with eight points.

Pakistan dominated from the opening whistle, establishing a 16-9 lead in the first quarter. By halftime, they had extended their advantage to 39-17, showcasing their strategic prowess and teamwork. The third quarter saw Pakistan further assert their dominance, pushing the score to 60-26. The team sealed the match with a final score of 79-39, reflecting their relentless momentum and skill.

Key players, including Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed, and Alina, delivered standout performances, contributing significantly to the emphatic win. Their coordinated efforts and exceptional play were pivotal in maintaining Pakistan’s lead throughout the game.

Pakistan Netball Federation officials, including Chairman Mudassar Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, praised the team’s skill and unity, congratulating them on their remarkable achievement. Pakistan now prepares to face the Maldives in their next match on Tuesday, as they continue their campaign in the group stage, which includes five league matches.

The Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025, held from June 27 to July 4 under the Asian Netball Federation’s supervision, features 11 teams split into two groups. Pool B, where Pakistan leads, includes Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia, while Pool A comprises Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India.
