LAHORE — The South African cricket team arrived in Lahore on Wednesday ahead of their much-anticipated two-match Test series against Pakistan, set to begin on October 12. This marks the start of both teams’ campaigns in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
The Proteas are in Pakistan for a multi-format tour, and the two Test matches will serve as the opening contests for both teams in the new World Test Championship cycle. The first Test will be played from October 12 to 16 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, followed by the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.
Pakistan will be looking to make a strong start to their World Test Championship campaign, aiming to recover from a poor performance in the last cycle, where they finished at the bottom of the standings after winning only five of their 14 matches. South Africa, the defending champions, will be keen to begin their title defense with a solid performance.
After the Test series, the teams will face off in three T20Is and three ODIs, scheduled from October 28 to November 8. The squad for the white-ball series will be announced closer to the time.
Tickets for the upcoming Test series are now available for purchase. Fans can buy tickets online through the official platform or from TCS Express Centres starting Thursday, October 8.
